You are all united permanently with one another and with the loving God Center.

Labels that identify or characterize who you refer to as God are in a sense without meaning, without importance. It is very natural to try to get your arms to surround the concept of who or what God is by assigning human-like characteristics. God is not human. God does not experience anger. God does not experience hate. God does not experience the “dark side,” as you have wondered. There is nothing to God that is other than light and love. These are not mere platitudes but statements of truth. To understand God is constantly a challenge and ever incomplete, but God may be explained in simple terms by simply saying, as you know, “God is love.”

What does this mean for you in your search for balance—personal balance, balance between individuals, communities, nations, balance within the body, health, peace? When we say that God is love, (and we have said often that in your becoming loving, you are in the process of becoming love), we are including what you become as a part of God. Does God’s influence, strength increase? Yes. It increases at every moment that you are transformed as living spirit from being loving to pure love. This is evolution, this is a growth, this is a change.

All human beings ultimately become pure love. That is the nature of your spirit. Your souls are in the process of being changed from being loving to being love. Your souls are not love yet, however your souls are loving. It is in part through the human experience that the soul learns what it means to be love. The human experience is one part of that process. It is for this reason that there is any learning that takes place in human form, for you are to evolve from being loving to being love.

You do not become love in human form. Your challenge, your goal as human beings is to embody what it means to be loving. It is to embody the very nature of the soul that resides within. All human beings contain a loving soul, but not all human beings achieve a measure of being loving. It is the soul’s objective, it is your guides’ objective to lead your lives in a direction that reflects the loving nature of your soul. As you become more loving, your soul moves closer to becoming love.

Since all souls ultimately become pure love, the presence of God is continually being enhanced by the collection of souls that are now love. As your soul moves to the state of love, your soul then becomes completely unified with the power and presence that you refer to as God. God is no more and no less than total love. The more souls are gathered together as love, the greater presence God achieves. God therefore is love, but God as love is a collection of all souls who have become love.

What is this love? What is its nature? The love that is God is a love of balance, a balance that means peace, a balance that means health, a balance that means harmony. It is a balance that is the ultimate state of all that exists. God’s love, therefore, is a power that affects your physical being, your emotional being, your spiritual being. The balance that is God affects all that is animate and all that is inanimate. When any item is in complete balance, undisturbed, a balance that exists on its own, that balance is a kind of love for that balance allows the entity to live, to exist, to function at some level in complete harmony with what surrounds it. Love is a balance, and therefore a stone that has perfect balance in its molecular activity is a kind of love. It is not a feeling type of awareness, but it is a balance of energy, a balance that asserts “all is fine.” There is no unresolved tension. We can think of balance as a tension that is resolved. It is an emphasis or a presence whose power is in equilibrium with something else. There is a kind of light and dark, a positive/negative, but it is the balance that is sought.

When you experience what is negative in life, you must find a balance of something that is positive. When you are in pain, you must seek and acknowledge what in your life represents the opposite of pain. It may be compassion, it may be a commitment to being loving, it may be a firm commitment to listening or being there, as we have spoken of so often. For all that any individual may suffer during human life, there are opportunities for balance to be achieved. If one is nearing the end of one’s life, there may be a balance that is present through faith, through a commitment to a belief that God provides rest, that God provides comfort, and that rest, that comfort lies just ahead.

The sense of balance is also important when you feel that all in your life is going well. Human life is not about everything going well, for nothing is only moving in that direction. When you feel positive about your life, it is the time to reach out to those who need your presence, those whose lives are not positive. It is like a battery. A full battery has no purpose other than to use that fullness to create or to enable something that cannot function without it. You are given opportunities that are strength-giving in your lives for the purpose of becoming strength-giving yourself, offered toward someone else, offered toward some cause that is in need of your presence.

When you become loving, you become loving because of what you give. It is not because of who you are. Being loving is not a bestowal of an award, but being given the opportunity to sacrifice. If you become loving, it is because you are more aware of the needs another may have for your presence. Being loving has no meaning in itself except to be offered. It is not enough to recognize the need for being loving. You must become that. It is through the exercise of being loving over and over again that ultimately brings about the state of being love itself.

It is that state that dominates the commitment of all who have joined our side of the divide. It is why we are who we are. We are becoming love just as you are, but our place on this evolutionary spectrum is slightly removed from yours. God is love because the souls of all who have lived ultimately become love. They become God.

You wonder about God’s presence in what you see to be negative in life. That presence is the state of balance, the state of equilibrium. The reality of that balanced equilibrium, God’s presence, is the reality of the possibility of peace, of health, of balance of all that exists.

Human life is filled with the inability of many to become loving, but that inability is only part of a longer process. The truth is, all souls will become loving in their execution of their existence in human form. What we are saying is that ultimately every soul, every spirit is able to transform the human experience that it accompanies into a state of being loving, into a state that is a clear representation of its own lovingness. Individuals sometimes succeed quickly. Others take numerous incarnations. As the lesson is learned, the soul becomes in the process so loving that it dominates the human life, and that human being’s response becomes totally loving.

There are in history a great many individuals whose lives are characterized as fully loving. The soul’s development for these individuals has become so refined and so complete that the individual becomes fully aware of the reality of the divine spark within. The soul, you see, grows and as that soul strengthens, it becomes the very presence of the human life to which it is attached. It is for that very reason that your souls experience the human condition, for your soul grows and strengthens and becomes more loving.

Those moments, however brief they may be, when you become unselfishly loving, nourish your soul and add to its strength. It is true the soul guides the human life, but it is the human life that gives strength to the soul, and it is that soul that ultimately is transformed into pure love.

You are where you should be. We mean this in a very personal way. We mean for you to understand that in your searching, in your honest pursuit of spiritual truth, you are where you must be. In other words, you must search for your spiritual truth. As you search, you are fulfilling that condition.

There are many who are not engaged in that search and they are not where they should be in terms of a goal, but their lives are nevertheless an important part of the process, and because they are a part of the process, they must be viewed as such. You cannot judge another to be outside the realm of God because their actions are self-directed and unloving. They belong to the process of spiritual growth equally as you belong to that process. For that reason, they are where they should be in terms of the process, but they are not yet where they should be in terms of their commitment to understanding the spirit that lies within.

We say to you, you are doing what you can do, you are doing all that you can do at this moment. That does not imply that there is nothing else to be done, but it affirms that you are committed to the search and there is not more that God would ask than that commitment. But in your search you must always be open to new directions that are revealed to you. Your being where you are does not mean you should stay where you are. You are where you are because of your search. Throughout your entire life, you must be engaged in the quest of the vision of your soul, allowing your lives to reflect that sacred center.

You are indeed fortunate to know that the search is essential. You are fortunate when you feel restless, when you are unsure where to go, what the meaning of this is, what the meaning of another individual is within your life. That questioning leads ultimately to greater understanding and that increased understanding refines the journey you’re embarked on…the search for spirit.

Be blessed by the understanding you have. Realize you are blessed with a sacred center. Devote your lives to an understanding of what that spirit means, and let your lives then reflect that soul.

We are blessed always when you acknowledge your soul, and we are blessed when you acknowledge our presence in your life. Be warmed, comforted, soothed, and healed in that blessing.

Amen.
