God embraces your guides, as well as each of you, as you withdraw from your many activities to concentrate more on an understanding of your lives—their directions, their purpose, and their future, as you would call that. Your guides are of course with you at all times, and we are with one another at all times. But when you are gathered together, it is easiest for us to communicate with each other. We could say figuratively, that as you are together, we are together, just as we can say figuratively, as you pray for another, we are united with that collection of guides. We say “figuratively” because it assists you in understanding our communication with one another, but of course, as there is no space, there is no distance. All guides, all spiritual entities, are constantly united, but it is important for you to feel the connection that you have with one another as being analogous to our connection with one another.
We have said much to you about your lives, your world, your reality, your interactions, but we would like to focus this time that you share with us on our lives, on our reality. We’ve spent relatively little time discussing our lives because what is most important is how you live your lives in the present, with relatively little concern about what awaits you in your spiritual lives come the future. But it is occasionally important to understand the spirit life as a context that informs your human existence.
Your spirit lives await you, but such life is not to dominate your human thoughts. In your own terms, you cannot be obsessed by the thoughts of what might be ten years from now, and in the process ignore your neighbor who is in need. That life would clearly be out of balance. And so it is in your understanding more about our life that you must not lose connection with the importance of the opportunities that are given to you in your current life-form.
Our lives have no sense of time, as you know. Our lives have no sense of space, as you also know. But there is occasionally misunderstanding in terms of what we retain individually, and what is more appropriately considered our corporate life, our community life, our assembled life, the life of the multitude rather than the individual.
When we make a transition from human life to spirit life, we bring with us only one element or experience or ability with us. That single characteristic is our capacity to love. That is all that we arrive with. For souls who have not benefited by being loved without judgment, it is difficult in turn to be loving without being judgmental. Loving nonjudgmentally is the single lesson that can only be learned in human form. Those souls who are unable to experience that capacity in love are given more opportunities to develop that strength. Those souls that choose to remain forever within the spirit-form are souls that already have developed an ability to be nonjudgmental and loving.
An individual whose life is characterized in self-doubt, whose life is characterized by self-hate, whose life is not directed toward love of self, is incapable of ultimately becoming nonjudgmentally loving of another. All of us who exist in pure spirit have had to experience what it means to be self-loving, for one cannot love another if one does not love self. One can love self and be blind to another, but first comes love of self, and it is then necessary to direct that love outward. It is that outward direction which is the goal of all human life. It is the lesson that all eventually succeed in learning.
When our lives become purely spiritual and we have no further need for the school of human life, we can then move forward to a deeper understanding and application of love, of being loving. Our existence is then entirely devoted to deepening this love. When we are nonjudgmental in our loving, that is the first step toward becoming Love. One can be nonjudgmental and yet relatively passive in the exercise of love. The spirit on our side starts from the perspective of nonjudgmental love. It is our desire—and we say “desire” not “duty”—it is our desire to take that nonjudgmental love and increase its intensity, to increase its application.
Our function as guides for you and countless others is the result of our applying our nonjudgmental love in a broader realm. We all recognize the potential that love has. We all acknowledge the meaning of nonjudgmental love. But your guides are determined to help human beings and other entities in God’s full creation to become ultimately nonjudgmental. It is a great effort, for all souls experiencing human life have guides—not one but many. It is the company of these guides that is dedicated to breaking through the normal barrier of human life in order to communicate this nonjudgmental reflection of God within the human condition.
Sometimes we are successful, but far too often, although we are present and able to nurture lives regardless of their awareness, we are not always successful in helping human beings to achieve this level of love. We are given power by God, but you, dear souls, are given choice—choice to listen, choice not to listen, choice to listen and live through what you know, choice to listen and to ignore what you know. That is up to you. Any human being who is aware of his or her soul as a reality is by nature open to being guided, is open to understanding more of what love really means.
You cannot accept your own spirit center and yet ignore your fellow beings. You cannot accept your spirit center and ignore God’s creation that is around each of you. But you can choose to deny the reality of your soul. You can choose to deny the reality of God. If one makes those choices, one is given more opportunities to learn.
Some souls join our side and are confused and unclear what has happened, where they are, and why they experience what they are experiencing. These souls when they join us need much time, need much understanding. They need to be nonjudgmentally loved by us so that they become more reflective of the potential to become loving within the human experience. They then realize the necessity of becoming loving and they choose on their own to reenter human life.
There are other forms of love of which you all are unaware, but of which we are acutely aware constantly, for love is not merely an emotion that motivates a particular action. Love, as we experience it, is a power, is an energy that takes a dimension far greater than merely the application of love. We say that you become loving and ultimately become pure Love. The transition from being loving to being Love itself is not automatic. You do not join our side and suddenly you are all Love. You join our side being loving and you gradually transform to the condition of Love.
What directs that transformation? What is the transformation? The transformation between being loving and being Love is achieved through our own abilities to communicate through light, through heat, through a kind of thought, as you would describe it, although it is not thought generated by the brain. It is thought generated through light. You know something of energy being transmitted through light, communication being through light, but we are aware of a strength that you refer to as love being transmitted, communicated, by light.
You cannot transmit love by light in human form. You can transmit love through human action, through words, through thoughts, but light is not recognized in human terms as a vehicle to transmit the strength that is love. Such an ability is only available to us. That can only be achieved when we become nonjudgmentally loving, and it is for that reason that your capacity to be loving is essential to the completion of human experience. It is what you achieve in your own lives that then enables you to learn to transmit love through light.
Often we speak of the light that we see. We see your light, for all souls emit light. The color of that light is at a different frequency from what you can see or measure, but for us it is brilliant, it is warm, it is enormously comforting. When we first entered our spirit lives, we were surrounded by an intensely loving light. You do not experience light as loving in your human lives. We experience light as loving, because it is through that light that love is transmitted. Our lives, therefore, are lives of brilliant, beautiful light with colors far more intense, far more beautiful than anything you can experience in human terms.
We progress in our lives spiritually. We learn to be more loving because we are surrounded by this light, and gradually the light that we emit as individuals, as identifiable entities, becomes consumed within the totality of that light that is around us, and we ultimately become the light itself that surrounds us, and there is no longer a separation. There is no longer a difference in the intensity of our light and the light that we are a part of, that we see. We are then that light.
If you pour cool water into a pan filled with boiling water, for a moment there is a difference in temperature, but ultimately the water achieves a uniformity of temperature, and that which you poured becomes unified with the water that had been heated before. And so it is with us. When we enter our spirit lives, our lights are less intense, less colorful. We are aware of that full intensity. We are aware of the full color. We are aware of the full love of that light, but we are not that light. Our development spiritually then becomes our gradual evolution into becoming the light itself.
We say you are the light. We mean that very sincerely. When you want to be a loving light, you are a loving light. You may not yet be Love, but you are that loving brilliance. You may choose at times not to be loving. You may choose at times to be judgmental. You may choose at times to be judgmental toward yourself as well as others. In those moments, you are not a loving light, but you are nevertheless a light, a needing light. You become a light that attracts the lights of others. You become a life that attracts the loving given by others. Your light is then intensified and soon again you become loving.
So your experience in human life commences with the need to be loved and must develop to becoming loving. Our transformation begins with being loving and eventually becomes love. We hope you understand this continuum which leads at the beginning to needing to be loved to the destination of becoming pure Love. Part of that development can only be achieved in your life-form. Part of that development can only be achieved in our life-form. Both forms, you see, are dependent upon the other. You grow through our outreach of being loving; we grow through your response and openness to our efforts. There is no break between our two life-forms. One is a smooth continuation of the other.
It is this emphasis on light being the communicator of love that is central to our life in spirit form. It is why you have guides. It is why your guides are always with you. It is why you can benefit through your awareness of your own soul. It is the reason you are given your human experience. All is in the grand creation of God. All is essential, all is interdependent. Rejoice in your lives as you share in this dance of light!
Amen.
